September - Agility 100 Foundations
Agility is a fun sport for people and dogs of all ages. This class trains the handler and the dog the foundation exercises for all other agility classes and is required prior to enrolling in any other Agility class.
The class is taught in an air conditioned and heated building. The handler will learn techniques to gain attention and focus from from the dog, warm up and cool down exercises for the dog, the foundations for rear, front and blind crosses, and additional foundation exercises.
The dog's recommended minimum age for taking the foundations class is 18 weeks old.
Minimum age for handler is 12 years old
The class is designed for one handler with one dog
After the dog passes the Foundations for Agility Class there are three additional 100 level courses that may be taken in any order.

Skill Details: | Handler and dog should be eager to learn and follow instructor's directions. Foundation techniques are taught by shaping behavior using food treats and tug toys. Basic commands for sit, down, stays and recalls are taught in this class. |
Requirements: | Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and bring your training equipment. Suggested equipment is a quick release buckle collar with no tags on it, 6 foot leash, water & bowl for your dog, a variety of high value treats for your dog, a variety of toys such as a toy that can be stuffed with treats or one that your dog likes to tug or chase. Proof of vaccination records are required at check in for 1st class. |
